The Joy of Baking

When I was little, one thing I loved to do was anything baking.  My parents used buy me kids dessert books so that I can bake small desserts like brownies and some simple cakes.  To my surprise, it stuck with me as I grew up.

A few years ago,  I attended a wedding for a close family member of mine and I began to notice little things that could have been done better to appear more elegant.  It was at that moment that I decided to open up an event planning company.  This company that I created provides all services needed in creating the best party possible.  Since then, the most requested service has been in the area of baking desserts.  While baking can sometimes be stressful, I have found that baking has become my zen.  I have been asked to create all kinds of different desserts. But custom cakes are my favorite.

Many bakers out there took classes and went to universities to get to where they are now.  I never took any classes or specialized in any specific desserts. I have always been self taught so imagine how difficult it was when I first started out.  But as everyone says, you learn from experience and I definitely have. I am very grateful to have had the experiences I have had baking; And that I have gained a great customer base that have also become my friends.  There is one book that has truly helped me as a guide and I highly recommend it if you are interested in baking.  The knowledge gained is priceless.
