Being A Stay At Home Mom Isn’t Easy

The Myth of Being a Stay at Home Mom is that we sit around all day not really doing much except sleep and watch TV. I’m here to tell you that it truly is a MYTH. A stay at home mom has one of the hardest jobs out there, and they do it for free!

When were younger, we always talk about how we want to be older so that we can do what we want and go where we want with no rules to hold us back.  We talk about how were tired of having to follow what our parents say because they don’t know what they’re talking about and that we know more than they do.  It’s not until we truly become adults and have to live and fend for ourselves do we realize….. BOY, WERE THEY RIGHT!! Then when they say, “you will realize what you put us through when you have kids of your own.” I’m here to say that everything my parents warned me about was true!

Growing up, my parents were never home because they were always working to make sure we had money for what we needed. That was their priority.  In my eyes, that’s not what I needed from them.  I felt that I was willing to give up whatever money they were putting into my private school, just to spend some time with me.  So I had them put me in sports, dance, gymnastics, anything that would require them to attend.  Unfortunately, that never happened. So when I had kids of my own, my priority was to make sure I was home for them.

But believe me when I say, being a stay at home mom (BSAHM) is anything but easy.

Juggling a business, kids, keeping the home in tact as well as everything that comes with that is hard to say the least.  It can be harder than working a regular 9-5 job.  Finding enough time in the day to get everything done can be nerve wrecking. I am lucky to get some needed sleep and not to mention “me” time to save my sanity.  But it is the sacrifice I make in order to be home with my kids, and I wouldn’t change that for the world.

Being a stay at home mom has its perks. I can move chores and appointments around to make my days more manageable.  Collectively having eight kids, it’s always in my best interest to try to stay as organized as possible.  And if I ever wanted to still work from home so that I can earn some extra income and be there for my kids, there are many possibilities out there.

Because of today’s technology, there are endless possibilities for work that will allow me to work from home.  A few of those possibilities are Legit Online Jobs, and Blogging with Rory.  Both of these opportunities give me the chance to earn extra income while still allow me to be at home with my kids.  What more could I ask for? Having kids and being able to be home with them while still earning an income is a blessing.  If I had to make any changes to my choices, it would be to have taken advantage of these programs sooner.
